For our 2 DD's I had ruled out names beginning with "B" due to our last name starting with an "O" for initial reasons. But I really like the name Ben for a boy.
Would the initials B.O. be a baby naming deal breaker for you?

Re: Deal Breaker?
I swear that the only people who will notice that will be you. I still didn't get it until I reread the last line twice.
This. If it was something inappropriate or vulgar, I probably wouldn't use it, like PP said ASS or KKK, etc. I'd go ahead with BO. Plus, there will be a middle initial in there that he can use if he wants to.
Nope.
DH's name is BJ. BO doesn't even register as an unfortunate set of initials to me until it's pointed out. In fact, my mind first goes to "blighted ovum" thanks to time on the m/c board.

Not a deal breaker.
I do think his classmates will notice and he may get made fun of, but kids are mean. If they want to make fun of him, they will find something to use. If it isn't his initials, it will be something else.

DH's initials are B.O. At first he said he didn't want to consider any names that start with B, but now he does not care. I don't think it's a deal breaker.
By the way, I love the name Ben.
Not a deal breaker.
I think putting monograms on things is kind of dumb, though, FWIW

Agreed and Ben is great. One of my best friends from elementary school was ASS. I don't know what her parents were thinking (or maybe they really never thought about initials?). Even with those initials, no one ever made fun of her. She is now married and is ASK.
Me neither. And even if I would, my DH would never ever agree to a name that led to initials being BO.
Great point!
I disagree. People notice initials, especially kids.
OP, I love Ben. If you love it, go with it.
