Hello all,
Just needing to blow off some steam and vent a little over the waiting process. We've finished all our stateside paperwork, have a completed homestudy, and our dossier was sudmitted to Ghana at the end of March. We were really hoping to at least have had a referral by now.
I know this is a long process, and I'm trying to be patient, but I also know that our son is sitting in an orphanage somewhere in Ghana when he could be in our home being loved on. It's just frustrating to sit and wait and not be able to do anything. Everytime I see the message light blinking on our answering machine, I think, "maybe this is it!"
Just needed to say that, and I knew I'd find a sympathetic ear here.
Re: waiting vent...
Ugh!! :-( I hear you!! We're in Korea now to "pick up" our son. We waited a year from referrel to travel- sooo hard!!! Our son is/was in a foster home, not an orphanage. But still so hard to know that everyday we waited, he was getting more and more attached to them and not us :-( :-( I'm sure it will break his heart later today when we take him away from them :-(
International adoption is so tough- these kids need families and homes. Paperwork or whatever else shouldn't get in the way so much! Hopefully your phone will ring soon with good news!!
