Here are some helpful tips:

First and foremost, DON'T be a PostWhore!! 

1. Read this post: https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/42877040.aspx  It's full of wonderfully interesting information.  It should be your first stop here.

2. Acronyms can be found here: https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/blogs/nest_baby_editors/pages/the-bump-community-glossary.aspx

Ones that aren't in there are: FX - Fingers crossed;  DD - Dirty Delete; AE - Alternate Ego; NBR - Not Board Related;  NFT - No Further Text.  Please feel free to add any that I missed!
The terms "Preggo", "Preggers", and "Baby Dust" are not really used on this board.  It's "Pregnant" and "Good Luck".  Also, we're all adults here, you can use the term "Sex" instead of "BD".  (Although BD is acceptable...)

3. We recommend you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"  (aka TCOYF)

4. We recommend that you sign up for Fertility Friend (aka FF) and chart your temperatures so that you can get a more accurate picture of your cycle.

No, it's not necessary.  I didn't do it for the first 3 cycles that we TTC, but I then decided that I wanted to know when I was going to ovulate (and if I ovulate) and this is the only way for you to figure it out at home.  I was intimidated at first but then I was surprised at how easy it actually is. (and I actually stress out much less now that I know what's going on)

Also, if you do decide to sign up for FF, make sure you add a nickname (preferably your bump name) because if you decide to friend other bumpies on FF, it makes it a whole lot easier to see that it's not just a random person sending out friend requests.

5. Go check out peeonastick.com - it talks about OPKs and HPTs and it, too, is rather fascinating.

6. If you get your period, then please feel free to post about it in "Waiting to O".  Conversely, if you're frustrated during the 2 week wait, then please post about it (including your phantom symptoms) in the 2WW post.  These two threads are created newly every day, so you can post about your cycle status in those two posts on a daily basis.

7. Go to the bottom of the board and sort the posts by last post date.  It'll make your bumping SO much easier.

Allow me to try:

GhostMonkey is a powerlifter, so Prim was telling her that there's a thread on another board she should look at.

Someone with an AE hates Prim. And she revealed her AE, which makes me feel like I witnessed something magical on the Internet.

KK wants popcorn, which led lots of other ladies to want popcorn and/or Krispy Kreme and/or Chik-fil-A (sorry, I probably butchered the spelling).

But Krispy Kreme doesn't make you preggasaurus; shoving tomatoes up your vadge does. So then there was another conversation about putting tomatoes and/or booze and/or vodka-soaked tampons up your vadge. Because it helps the baby's tolerance go up. 

Some ladies are moving to Wisconsin because of the delicious fast food there.

And Prim/Bish/Mcwhatever are still going back and forth, which I sort of love. 

 

...anyone else? What'd I miss? Sorry I couldn't remember names; I'm trying to be fast so I don't miss the action!
