Pulsating Near Cervix?

This is probably nothing to worry myself about, but I was wondering if anyone had had this feeling and/or perhaps knows what it is?

I lay down to sleep this eve unt after a little cramping in my pelvis and have felt a deep almost pulsating sensation in what I suppose is the vacininty of my cervix. LO has had hiccups before and I recognize this sensation as something different. It's a pulsating but uneven, eg: pulsate five times, stop briefly, plusate twice, stop briefly etc.

Im coming up to my 32nd week and have had few concerns thus far, any ideas? TIA

Re: Pulsating Near Cervix?

  • It could be the hiccups or you are picking up a pulsing artery.

  • I agree with pp.  I felt this for the first time today and then I could tell it was hiccups

  • I think I know what you're talking about here. It is very hard to describe. I don't really know what it is, but I find if I add more pillow between my knees to widen the opening of my hips it helps it stop. I think it may just be LO pressing differently down there and a short bout of hiccups (which is rare for my LO since he seems to get them and keep them for a good amount of time). That or maybe it could be as PP said, maybe they're sitting on a nerve and it's reacting to the pressure. If you're really concerned then write it down and ask at your next visit or call in the morning. I'm at week 34 and was told everything was fine at my last appt. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though.

  • Thank you for the replies ladies, I appreciate them. I think it may have been a nerve issue as when I did eventually sleep I woke up with tingling thighs and cramped toes. I'm not too concerned, more curious than anything lol. Everything has been great at every appointment, he's a wiggly little guy!

    Thanks again!

  • I have gotten the same thing!! I normally get it when I am sitting very erect for a long period of time (like in a meeting) or when I am laying down. I think it means that my LO is uncomfortable because when I adjust it immediately goes away. Don't know exactly what it is, but I have certainly experienced it!
