FI to start T this month

Hello all,

It's been awhile since I've posted, but I needed to share with somebody....

J has an appt Friday for his bloodwork and then has an appt on the 20th to start his T-therapy.  I am excited and anxious and nervous all at the same time.  We had hoped to have his top surgery this summer, but schedules didn't cooperate.  So now we are looking at fall break (he's in school) or possibly next summer.  I feel bad because he is pretty well endowed so even when he binds it's pretty obvious.  He looks miserable to tell you the truth and I feel bad for him.

Please send him some T&Ps (if you do that).  I know he's both excited and worried as well.

Re: FI to start T this month

  • sending positive thoughts .. Does he have a blog about his transformation?

I used to be very big chested  and also binded and then I lost a ton of weight ( surgery)  and apparently it was all in my chest  cuz now I am flat as can be -  Prior to having my weight-loss surgery I always wanted to have an elected Mastectomy  but not no need to ... It was not just for cosmetic reasons I have a very cancerous family history so it could have been somewhat preventive.

     Keep us posted....

    Thanks

    J

  • Thanks so much for the well-wishes!

    I really appreciate them.

I am ready to get this journey started, all the "what-ifs" are killing me.  He's about to ban me from online "support" groups because he says I am getting crazy ideas in my head...  = )

  • Hey there!  Good luck to you both.  T is a hell of a ride, but a good one.  For me, within about a year of being on T my chest shrank considerably (DD down to a B). The body repositions fat deposits when you're on T (to the belly mostly for me), so things do shift even if top surgery is a ways in the future. Also, for me, going on T was like a whole new beginning.  Like I never knew I was actually depressed before or that I could feel that good. I hope your partner has that experience.

"What-if's" are normal, but remember that there are "what-if's" with the decision not to go on T too... for me anyway, the "what-if's" without T were much scarier! and there is nothing wrong with finding support online or elsewhere. Ideas are a good thing and a welcome distraction from the "what-ifs"!

     peace,

  • Hi evan, thanks for your reply.

I'm hoping the experience is the same for him (feeling better after starting).  He seems to think it will be, so I will trust him. I guess as with most things, you hear more about the bad experiences than the good.

Also, very interesting that your chest shrunk that much.  He will be thrilled.

  • It's one amazing Journey. My DH is starting his journey towards transitioning also. Amazing time for us, with the baby fever hitting us both and his transition there's always progress in both to work towards.
