Rocking Chair ? (NOT vs glider)

We were given a rocking chair by my parents. The baby's room has fairly plush carpet and it doesn't rock easily. DH thinks we should buy one of those plastic mats like they use in offices. Anyone have a different solution?

youd be surprised how after a few days of sitting in it, the carpet mats down enough where the rocker always sits. We had this issue too and had a plastic mat, but noticed after a while the rocker would kinda rock off of it when you would be sitting in it and it still left the marks on the carpet from the two "rockers" on the bottom of the chair, so we just ended up ditching the mat and putting it right on the rug.

I agree, it won't take long before it sits down in the carpet.

The house we moved into had new carpet and our chair found its groove quickly.
