It seems like there's an influx of cloth diaperers out there, and I'm wondering how many of the birth-month-buddies are doing so!
I am using cloth for our daughter and I kind of regret not researching this option for our son when he was a baby.

Re: Do you cloth diaper?
I chose 'yes' as my answer but I'm actually not doing it just yet. My son is just now 4 weeks and we have bum genius 4.0 AIO and i don't think he is quite chunky enough for them just yet. Plus I'm worried his breastmilk poop (bright yellow/orange) will stain his diapers. Any suggestions on how to prevent the staining?
We're making the slow transition to cloth diapers; just waiting for DS to fit in the flats my mom made a little better.
The wash routine I've used that has gotten stains out of not only the diapers but DS's clothes (when the disposables have blown out or leaked) is: rinse and spin cycle in cold water, no detergent. Then I soak for 30 minutes in a scoop of Tide Ultra HE, then wash in "hot" water with an extra rinse of cold. Our top-loading HE washer doesn't actually get the water that hot - more lukewarm. In any case, the diapers smell good and no stains when a load is done.

You can use diaper liners to help prevent stains, but I've found that the sun is incredibly effective at bleaching! oxiclean is also something that works quite well, too.

We use cloth about 60% of the time. It's way easier than I thought it would be! It also helps that DH is on board.
So far we haven't had any real issues with stains from breastmilk. poops. A few had some yellowish spots, but I hung them out to dry and they were bleached out, no problem.
The CD board is really helpful too if you have questions!
Yep, we do too. Although we do keep a small stash of disposables for emergencies when we're out of the house and for babysitters. We started doing it with our daughter (now 3) and are reusing our diapers with our son.
The brand we use we got in England though and it isn't available over here. We could use some extras so I'm on the look out for a good brand over here. I'm leaning towards Fuzziebuns or bumGenius. Any recommendations?
I have been CDing since we got home from the hospital. We started with the prefolds and covers, and I wasn't totally sold on the idea. We had one bag of newborn diapers that we got at our baby shower, and we used a few of them off and on when I ran out of diapers and needed to do laundry. I haven't even needed to use the whole bag. We got the hang of the cloth diapers really quick and it's a ton easier to wash diapers than it is to load up the LO and go to the grocery store.
My LO just hit 8lbs and has started to fit in most of the pocket diapers. We have Fuzzibunz and BG's. I find that the Fuzzibunz are more absorbent, but the BG's are much easier to put on the baby and a TON easier to stuff!! I have also recently purchased Alva's through a Co-op and I'm waiting for them to arrive so I can try them out. I'm hoping I love them because FB's and BG's cost almost 20$ a piece, and the Alva's were less than $5.
One last thing, through the 30th of this month, both BG's and Fuzzibunz are doing a buy 5 get the 6th diaper free sale. Check it out.

Yes we've been cloth diapering since our first week home. LO was 6lbs 14 oz when she was born. DH and I mainly use prefolds and covers but also have AIOs: Lil Joeys (love them), Thirsties (great), motherese (great too), and GroVia (leak almost every time) and Fitteds including 2 clotheze and 1 kissaluv. My mom likes the AIOs and uses those every time she takes LO.
We have a bunch of pocket diapers that are one size that we haven't started using yet.
We hang ours out on the line and there are no stains.
Good Luck!
