this was my first pregnancy so i had never had an epidural so im not sure whats normal and isnt. my left thigh is numb still...i can walk and wiggle my toes but my lef thigh is tingling and numb..not completely numb but enough to feel weird...it comes and goes but for the most part its constant...occasionally there is numbness in my hip area on the left side as well...is this normal or should i check with my dr? also today was an ok day as far as i didnt cry as much and i handled myself pretty well. my feelings got hurt by my 11 year old cousin..her mama was looking at pics of lane and she happened to see and ask why his legs were so red...we had to explain he wasnt done developing yet..it hurt but amazingly i held myself together. i cried for a bit while trying to explain to my aunt how when the nurse brought me lane she moved the blanket and it made his mouth move. i was explaining to her how my heart jumped and i got all excited and freaked that i thought he was miraculously alive...then how the nurse apologized repeatedly and told me she accidentally moved the blanket and how sorry she was for upsetting me...i still cry when i think about that..it was so embarrassing i probably looked so stupid thinking he could possibly be alive moving his mouth after they told me he was gone.....horrible thoughts that i cant shake. ugh.
Re: epidural problems..maybe?? and more
I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Lane. This was my first as well, almost one month ago. I had and still have a numb feeling that comes and goes in my left leg. Mostly the upper outer muscle. It was constant right after and the whole week following delivery, and then it just kind of started to mellow out. I still get numb feelings, but my OB said as long as it is decreasing not to worry and we will follow up at my 6 week appointment. But I would still at least call your doctor and see what they have to say about it. ~~~hugs~~~
