Swing/Glider recommendations

Still in my third trimester, but I thought this board might be more appropriate for my question.

I am looking for a swing that plugs in and also runs off of batteries. I have been on Target and Walmart all night reading reviews and a lot of them say that the swings will slow down/stop swinging after baby reaches 10-15 pounds. I would love to hear about good, decent priced swings that have worked for you!! I'm trying not to spend over $120-$130 but I am open to suggestions. Thank you!

Re: Swing/Glider recommendations

  • I have the Fisher Price Snuggle Bunny swing.  My baby is 12 pounds and the swing is working well.  BJ's has the swing for $120 and Babies R Us met this price for when I mentioned it was cheaper at BJ's.

  • I also have the FP suggabunny and my LO loves it. I got it for my baby shower so I don't know what it cost. It's the only place she will sleep in overnight so it's great for us. This is not battery operated though it plugs in.
  • We have the Graco 2 in 1 Glider Elite swing.  It is a swing/bouncer in one that doesn't take up much room in your house.  The swing part is plug in and the seat has a vibration that is battery operated. The swing is removable and works as a bouncing chair (manual when they are newborns and not moving much).  Our little guy seems to like it, especially with a swaddle, he'll sleep for hours in there.

  • We have the snuggamonkey...same as the 2 previous posters just monkeys. LO loves it. She's 12 lbs and it works just fine.
  • DD LOVES her snuggabunny! She will sleep the first stretch of the night in her pnp then will only fall back to sleep in her swing. It does have a relatively large footprint and does not run on batteries. The cost was atound $150. Worth every penny.
  • We have both the graco 2 in 1 and the snuggabunny (at grandparents house). I prefer the graco 2 in 1 and so does DD. I always feel like she's going to tip out of the snuggabunny because of how it sits. It's a decent swing, I just like the graco better!

We have this too and LOVE it.
  • Thanks everyone! It seems like I've narrowed it down to Graco 2 in 1 & Snuggabunny. :)
