Huggies, always leaking?

Hello, I got a box of huggies brands diapers on clearance at Target and every time my LO poops, it goes right through the leg and makes a huge mess. Did I buy a defective box or has anyone lese experienced this too? It's like the leg opening has a gap.

we had this exact same problem with huggies - and my baby has chunky little thighs too!  we ended up ditching half the bag and going back to pampers.

I have heard other mothers claim that Huggies was not a good brand to buy and that leaking is a common problem. I know that i am happy with Pampers for my LO

I, too, have found that Huggies tend to be more leaky than Pampers.  I felt bad wasting the whole box though, so I've been trying to use them.   I have found it helps to make sure the ruffles around the legs are out.  I haven't had any poop leaks since I started doing that.   I do use Pampers during times I know my LO tends to poop a lot, like overnight and for the first few hours of the morning.

I was told before I had my little man that "huggies do not hug!" I didn't believe it until I finally tried out Pampers and realized that it is not normal to leak through nearly every other diaper.

we use huggies and the only time we've had a leak was when the leg ruffles were tucked in on one side (my doctor was the one that put the diaper back on).

we're always careful to ensure three things: penis down, ruffles out, one finger space in tightness. it took dh a while to figure out diapering so i had to tell him those three key points!!

we are not buying huggies anymore either as they leaked more often. I did not like the tabs either-they kept sticking to him, the other diaper, etc.  We started out with pampers, and will be using them from now on!

I used huggies with DD and I did find that if I didn't have ruffles out that they would leak.  I still use huggies to this day and they seem to work much better once she was a little older.  The main reason I use them is because that is what Costco sells.  With DS I am using pampers and boys and I have not had any issues.  Other then adjusting to changing boys diapers...

Hate Huggies had them leaking every diaper also had one burst the little gel things all over my son after a small pee. I love Pampers I have house full of them

I'm another one who has children that leak through huggies...DD always did, and still does in her size 4's and DS does too both in the NB's and size 1's.

That's hilarious because my husband and I were complaining about Huggies earlier for that same reason. From everyone's posts, it seems to be a recurring theme with Huggies.

Wow - I can't believe so many people have had problems with Huggies!  We've been using them for over two months now, and haven't had one leak or blowout.

This.  Make sure the ruffles are out.  I haven't had any leaks with Target brand or Luvs.

I have never had good luck with Huggies.  DD peed and pooped out of them often.  DS does the same thing. We use Pampers.

We've used Huggies since day 1 (its only been a week, but it was what was used at the hospital and they sent us home with the remainder of the box).  They were fine at first, but now they are definitely leaking...and each time its been all over me!  The few times it happened I was either feeding him or just holding him and suddenly pee all over my legs.  Blah, we have so many packages of Huggies that people gave us, too.

HATE Huggies. We ended up giving them to Goodwill.
