We finally heard back from the geneticist.

DS2 has the same XLID that DS1 does.  It causes mental retardation, tone problems, seizures, hearing loss, vision loss, microcephaly (although right now DS2 has a normal head circumference), nystagmus, agenisis of the corpus callosum and cerebellum.

This svcks.

I thought knowing the odds ahead of time would make it hurt a lot less to hear.

I am so sorry you are going through all of this.....again.  You just can't catch a break.  ((hugs)).

I know this doesn't even compare apples to apples....but when we were dealing with DS1's food allergies at first (before knowing any other issues)--- and knowing the severity of them, how our lives would change, etc.  there was obviously a lot to learn, we had to change our lives, how I cooked, etc.  We did it.  He did it, etc.  Then came #2.  He seems to not have as serious of allergies but there seems to be some--and I had to say to myself "you can do this....you KNOW this....you've DONE this....."...even though I didn't want to. 

Again-not even apples to apples here--but knowing that you know what to expect..and knowing that you ARE strong....and that you ARE the most awesome mom ever.....that will get you through this.
