Phantom Kicks?

Anyone experience these? I've had them with both kids. I obviously know it's just my body doing it's thing but sometimes they feel like so much like the little early movements. Makes me miss being pregnant...a little.

Re: Phantom Kicks?

  • I've been meaning to post about this! I totally feel them. I thought I was nuts!

It's so strange- I had to google it to make sure I wasn't losing my mind!

Yep. It freaked me out. Only happened once but I had to pause and remind myself there is no baby kicking!

  • I have had these both times too! I figure it's our internal organs moving back to their original places. Or something...

  • I had the first month after he was born. I have noticed that I still rest my hand on my belly all of the time. My mom was visiting and asked me if my stomach hurt. Apparently if I'm not holding DS my hand is always on my belly.

  • That is so weird that you said this because I asked my mom tonight if it was possible and she thought I was crazy! She said it's just gas but I told her it felt like Ellie kicks. It's so strange! Glad to know I'm not alone!!
I give up on trying to make a ticker.... this new bump format is for the birds...

  • I had phantom kicks for at least a year after my oldest, and then again when we were ttc. Brains are strange.

  • I feel them too - I panic for a second thinking maybe I missed the signs of pregnancy. I realize it is not possible for me to be that far along. My mind plays tricks on me!

I've basically had phantom kicks or real kicks for the past 2 years! I don't think its organs moving around because everything should have been back in place at around 6 weeks pp.

  • Holy crap, I thought I was crazy when I felt a kick like feeling! I figured it was gas but the weird thing is I never felt gas like that before. And I remember people wondering in early pregnancy if they felt kicks but attributed it to gas, however I never understood that.

  • I have them too. It's even worse since having the mirena placed.

  • I get them every so often.  Right after my C Section it was crazy bad - and you could even see my belly moving!!!  But they had removed him like, an hour before that!  The nurse told me that it was muscle spasms and things contracting down.  Later she said that I would still feel them, but they would more than likely be gas.
