Recliner/Rocker for twins

Hi all!

I am looking for recs for a recliner chair or rocker for breastfeeding and reading to twins. I bought a very slim, small-profile glider with DS. I want to leave that in his room or put it in the office- I love it and use it all the time.

But it is too small for twins! I am looking for a chair that I can use to comfortably breastfeed the twins, fit 3 of us, possibly 4 for stories, etc. Any good ideas? I like gliders, and I am hoping for some with good padding.  Thanks in advance!

Re: Recliner/Rocker for twins

  • I never found a glider anywhere near wide enough. I was really only comfortable feeding on a small couch (or the bed). We got a love seat. I was afraid of one of the babies rolling off when inwas tandem feeding with the giant pillow. Not that they ever did I don't think but I would have been too paranoid to have them like that.

  • We're watching for used/cheap "double gliders". We haven't decided yet if we want a standard double glider like this:

Or if we want one that has leg supports like this:

I'm leaning toward the standard glider with a smaller ottoman, but we'll take whatever we can find for cheap!

  • I bought a rocker recliner for their nursery. It is big enough to BF both of them on but I hardly ever do that because I can't get both babies onto the chair with me and my nursing pillow unless I have someone here to hand the babies to me. I only have help for two feedings a day and I just do them in my bed.

This! I use my twin nursing pillow in the bed. It's easy to just bring both babies in there and lay them in front of me while I set up to feed them. We got a rocker recliner for the nursery. The only time I fed them on it was when they were a bit younger and one would wake up first to eat, so I'd feed one and then the other. Love the recliner for story time though! We use it every day for that.

  • I just bought this recliner/rocker when it was on sale from sears & it arrives next week. Not the prettiest. But will fit all of us in the chair!!! Maybe even my DS too!

Its comfy too and I'm tall.

  • You might be able to find what you're looking for, but I just got a little rocker for their room and did most feeding on the couch in the living room, sometimes on our bed, and eventually on the living room floor.  Like a PP said, getting both babies up into a chair and onto a pillow and then back down again is pretty much impossible without help.  I know it doesn't sound as intimate and lovely as a rocker in the nursery, but finding a bigger, lower space outside their room will likely work SO much better.
