MAC makeup questions

Sorry ladies, I"m a pain today.

But I haven't been to a social event in so long I'm totally nervous about this wedding lol

My next thing would be hair and makup. I think I'll just go to my hair stylist and have her do something easy for me. Maybe just a regular blow dry and style. But I want to really doll up and have some nice makeup going. I always do my makeup and have actually never had my makeup done professionally except for my wedding but my friend actually did it and it was a wedding gift from her. I wanted to ask her to do it but her and her husband are going through a separation so it's not a good situation. Anywayyyyy I wanted to maybe go to MAC and have them do my makeup.

So my question is: Do you like their work? Do you pay/tip for the work they do (sorry if this is dumb but I really don't know ) and are they kind of pushy to make you buy the makeup. I really don't need new makeup plus we are on a very tight budget so I don't want to spend too much $$

I really think it depends who you get at MAC to do the makeup.  I've had some do an awesome job and others where I haven't liked it very much.  Now I always go back to the same girl.  Everytime I've gone to get mine done, they require you to purchase $50 worth of makeup.  They should tell you if they require this whenever you are booking your appointment with them.

I always go to MAC when I need my make-up done.  They tend to do it heavy though so if you don't want it like that, make sure you tell them.  And ditto PP, you have to buy like $50 worth of make-up.  I pretty much only wear MAC though so it works out for me.

I love MAC makeup. Just tell them what you want if you don't want a dramatic look. You are usually required to purchase makeup after.

I love MAC!  I have had my maykeup done by them at several different locations and loved it everytime!  I've never tipped them, though, because I usually buy the makeup.  I think they require either a certian amount of makeup purchase, or they charge a flat fee.  It's usually between $50 and $70 (at least at the counters I've gone too.)  I feel like it's a pretty good price, comparatively.
