I got so huge with my other two babies and I am really trying to keep the weight down with this one:)! I'm 16 weeks today and have gained 7 lbs. Does anyone have a chart with how much weight to gain per week? Thanks!
I don't have a chart but in my email I got this week for being 15 weeks said I should have gained about 5 pounds (give or take 2 lbs). So 7lbs seems reasonable!

BFP#2 on 5/28/11 EDD 2/1/12 Natural M/C on 6/13/11
BFP#3 on 1/20/12 EDD 9/30/12 Natural m/c on 1/27/12
BFP#4 on 4/23/12 BIRTH to Isabella 7lb1oz on 12/19/12
I'm 15 weeks and have gained 10lbs, which is about the same as I'd gained at this point with DS. I only gained 35 overall with him, and that's about what I'm aiming for this time as well.

Our little man is getting bigger every day! My BFP Chart
I gained like 1 pound in first tri, but in the past couple weeks, I have put on more, very suddenly (another 5 pounds). So I am at 6 pounds at 15 weeks. I just did that weight tracker PP posted, and I am just BARELY off target. However, I must laugh: according to my BMI, this says I should gain between 11 and 20 pounds, but DD herself was 11 pounds. So I take this with a little grain of salt.
I think I gained about 25-30 pounds with DD, which was all gone with 2 weeks of delivery, so I know it was all necessary weight. Just eat healthy and you will be fine.
I gained a TON with my first too. 55lbs to be exact. Granted I was tiny (barely 110 at 5''4). But I still dont want to pack on the pounds with this one like last time. It came off....but I'm getting older dangit. I need to keep it in check.
So I would say you're good at 7lbs. But its really relative to how much you weighed to start.
Again, though, this says my final weight should be between 249 and 258, but I ended up about 258 with DD, and I started out 10 pounds lighter -- and like I said, I was back to my prepreg. weight within 2 weeks after giving birth.
So again, use these as a guideline, but don't go crazy if you go over your "recommended weight." Eating well is what matters.
Hi momma's. I'm currently 22wks 4days and I have only gained 5 pounds. So gaining 7lbs at 16wks I'm sure is fine. With my first, son, by this time I gained almost 15-20lbs...
I'm 15 weeks and have lost 5 lbs so far... I talked to my doctor and he would like me to start gaining at a rate of 1 lb per week at this point, especially since I have lost in the first 15 weeks. (I didn't have m/s, I have no idea why I have been losing and not gaining). But at this point I have roughly 25 weeks to go & the doctor would be happy with 20-25 lb gain by the end. (I gained 30 total with my son). I have no charts though, just doctor's words.

a few things I have heard but take them for what they are:
1) women typically gain 3-4 lbs in the first trimester
2) One of my OBs said that "typically" in the second trimester a woman normally could gain 1/2-1 lb a week.
I hadn't gained any weight since my first appt at 7 weeks (i'm 16w5d) and i was a little concerned and
3)the other OB i saw at the office said not to worry at all because most of the weight gain is done during the second half of the pregnancy and not to be concerned.
I know the bigger issue is women losing too much weight due to morning sickness or women gaining way too much weight from simply overeating. I think your 7 lbs sounds just fine based on your pregnancy timeline. I also have been told by a registered dietician/personal trainer who despite being sick her entire pregnancy, still gained 60 lbs that as hard as we try to eat well or even workout, the body will do what it needs to do to make sure that baby has what it needs and just roll with it. She wasn't saying to eat our bodyweight in cheetohs butjust realize baby is #1 and our body is amazingly adept to doing what it needs to:)
Thank you everyone!! I am going to try and just keep it to 1/2--to 1 lb. per week like the above poster recommended. I just don't want to have to lose 60 LBS. AGAIN:)!!! We just moved and I packed my scale away so I need to find that bad boy real quick:).

I just used this chart, which is weekly:

I just used that website and I fall close to the low amount. I don't have my scale but I think I've gained about 2 pounds so far.
7 pounds sounds like a healthy amount especially since you said your goal isn't to gain as much as with your first pregnancy.
