Sorry i am a first time poster long time creeper. My dh's parents have been in an uproar for the last two weeks. With our first rug rat we found that a shot of whiskey mixed in with the formula at night usually puts the babe out for the night and leaves us rested for the next hectic day. Our first child is perfectly normal and developed. Lots of older people I hear ised to use bourbon to help with teething so what's the big deal? Please help give me arguments to help my in laws to see this is not a big deal.

If I say something that accidentally rubs the wrong way everyone jumps on me. Its happend within the last couple of days even. Its not some made up ***. You first timers haven't ecperienced not sleeping for months becaise of a fussy baby. You become desperate and try all sorts of things to try to get them to sleep at night. I may have exaggerated on the amount before in my rush but it is honestly the only thing that worked. The in laws just don't care and want to make my husband believe I am sooo awful. Cry me a river.  I really hope this is all made up, and you're not truly giving your LO whiskey.  If you are, I hope and pray that someone close to you reports you and your child is taken from you and perhaps given to your IL's because they seem to care more about her than you do. 

That being said, I think you are an attention starved person.  And if you ARE in fact LadyNikon, cool it with the unnecessary posts or take your flames like a big girl. Otherwise, shut your trap. 

ETA: I do NOT think the OP is actually giving her LO booze.  And I would never wish that a child is removed from it's parents unless the child was in danger.  Giving booze to a minor of ANY age is wrong, negligent and illegal.  In which case, I would fully support the child living with a more suitable caregiver.

First of all, this SN is really offensive.  But assuming you really are asking for help and not exaggerating on giving your baby alcohol, I think you should probably speak with your baby's doctor.  I am sure there is something safe you can give her or do, since alcohol is NOT okay.  I don't care if nothing happened yet, but you don't know kind of long term effects this could have on her.  

I know it's tiring, but if you are about to have twins, I hate to break it to you but life is going to get so freaking complicated.  You really need to find a solution other than alcohol.  Really, speak to a doctor and perhaps even see if you can get some therapy.  And I'm not trying to be mean, I am in all honesty trying to be serious in case you are not joking about this.
