Evenflo vs Graco carseat

I am between two carseat/travel systems, an Evenflo (which has great padding and nice price) and a Graco. I am leaning towards the Graco because I am familiar with the brand and used it with my DD but thats pretty much the only reason.

Anyone previously use a Evenflo? Likes? Dislikes?

Thanks!

Re: Evenflo vs Graco carseat

  • I would go with Graco. It has the best safety ratings.

  • No experience with Evenflo but I used Graco with #1 and #2 and was happy with it.

  • I don't personally have experience with Evenflo, but a car seat inspector that I talked to actually talked me out of Evenflo because she said it was a pain to get adjusted and in and out of the car. I've heard great things about Graco, so I would go with that.

  • Not a fan of the Evenflo.  We bought one as a cheapie for my parents to use in their car, and it was a PITA to install and doesn't feel nearly as sturdy as our Graco infant seat or Britax convertibles.

  • We have a graco infant carseat and a graco convertible seat and we love them. Only thing I have negative to say: we got the snug ride 35 infant seat and it is incredibly heavy to lug around if you carry your baby anywhere in it. I would guess the carriers with the standard 25/30 lb limit might be lighter? I wish we had gotten one of those. My 21 month old is still under 25 lbs and outgrew the infant seat way before the weight limit.
  • From Lucies List:

     Best in Class

Having said that, there are 3 infant seats that are consistently awarded high marks from moms and experts alike. Depending on your budget, here are the three that I recommend:$ -- Graco SnugRide
    $$ -- Chicco KeyFit
    $$$ -- Britax Chaperone
    Evenflo doesn't make the list.

  • I Dislike the way Evenflo has to be lifted and tilted to get into the base. It might be fine as a newborn but as they get heavier it is a huge pain.

  • They are all "safe". The difference in these carseats is the padding. Some weigh more, some have higher weight/height limits for you child, etc.

I would go for the Graco because it's less expensive - you use this carseat the least..........you'll be in a convertible carseat before you know it and that one lasts longer.
