A Wegman's just opened up near by not too long ago and I keep hearing how fantastic their cakes are. We were thinking about ordering a sheet cake for DD's birthday. We won't be able to make a trip over there until 1-2 days before her party.
Are there sheet cakes on display that I can just pick up that day and can I just ask them to write "happy bday DD" on it that same day? Or do I need to order one before hand?
Also, when I googed their cakes, I saw all sorts of designs on the cakes. I'm guessing there's probably a binder of cake designs like in the supermarket bakeries that I would have to choose from? I wonder if I could do that over the phone somehow.
And lastly, which flavors were the yummiest?
Re: Has anyone ordered a Wegman's birthday cake?
You can ask them if you can have your cake worked on the day you are there but if you want other special things on it like pictures or whatever, it will probably need to be done in advance. Can't hurt to give the store a call to make sure before you waste your time going in and finding out they require advance orders.
Their buttercream frosting is good!
