Irregular ovulation ?

Hi, I have been off BCP nearly 3 years and actively TTC for 1.5 - no luck.

My latest dr. suggested I use the CBEFM for 3 months. I've only used an OPC about 3 times during the last year, and it always showed a positive. I typically get 1 day of EWCF and ovulation pain, so I always thought I was ovulating.

Last month was the first using the CBEFM, and it showed ovulation around day 14, I think. But this month I'm on day 19 and it has only jumped to level 2 and has stayed there for the past 4 days. I really don't think I will ovulate (according to this monitor) at this point b/c my cycles are typically only 28 days and are regular.

So my question - is it possible to ovulate some months but not all? I'm surprised to have this happen on one hand, but on the other, I'm not b/c it may explain why I haven't conceived. Thanks!

Hey! No one is completely regular all the time. It is totally normal to have longer or shorter cycles some times + annovulatory cycles happen to most women once or twice a year.. GL!

Yes, it is possible (and not very uncommon) to have one or two anovulatory cycles in a year. If you have multiple, consecutive anovulatory cycles, then there's a problem.
