Hi all. Not to sound like a total creeper, but I've lurked here often since I got pregnant and never posted. Since I'm officially a parent now I guess it's as good a time as any.
Quick question about clothing brands. My kid is long and skinny. Not weird skinny, but he does not fill out the width of clothes. The large majority of clothes we have are from Carter's so I am wondering if there are brands you have come across in your experience that run narrow?
This sh!t is bananas--we bought shorts and button down shirts that he still can't wear in 0-3 month size because they are too baggy, and by now he's in 3-6 month for length.
Re: Clothing brands question
See, we had the opposite problem, long chunkers that couldn't sqeeze into anything. Gap for sure runs skinny with most of the styles (works now for the older kids), Calvin Klein does, Children's Place has a bit of both, but I find that their denim and non stretchy clothing (like the cotton pants, etc) to run skinny. S can only wear their stretch material, the stiff stuff doesn't fit her yet, she's still sporting chub. I like that once they reach past 24 months, you can suck in the waist band.
Oh, and Happy Canada Day!
this.
My DD is tall but her torso is long and her legs are short. I have memories of her in a 12month onesie and 3month pants.
We have only recently been able to do sets.

Woo. I'm going shopping. The way my poor kid looks at me when I try to dress him in clothes that he is nearly swimming in is tragic. I'm sick of him wearing stretchy clothes because it's the only thing that doesn't make him look like he's shrinking.
And right back at ya, hoser! Love the Tim's avatar even though I question the validity of their little "contest"... I rolled up 17 rims and won nothing this year.
Thanks! I mean, I agree but it's my job to, I'd still think he was adorable if he had a face like a smacked arse.
Hahaha! Have fun shopping. If you go to Children's Place, tell them you couldn't print off the email coupon for 20% off, associate code 018 web code 2K6F2012. It's good till July 4th. They've got 50% some summer stuff as well (the 20% applies to your entire order, sale stuff too). And go sign up for their emails.
LOL, hoser, take off 'eh. I am a Tim's addict, I live within a 5 minute walk of TWO Tims. Heaven. And, um, you didn't win, cause I think I got all 17 of yours.
All coffee though.
Done. And I'd stop drinking Tim's if their double double wasn't better than crack. Not that I've been on crack, but I've sure been strung out on an XL Tim's dd more times than I'd like to admit. That Tim Horton was an evil genius. I love him.
Oh, me too....until I get like this and DH tells me to CTFD.

You know, my oldest and youngest are like this too.
Dylan is getting into a 2T, but she really needs a 18m for pants yet. One piece outfits and dresses she can do a 2T - but she has no butt or waist.
) Makes her look like she got J Lo's booty!
Alex is now getting into a 7 and still needs a slim to keep her jeans up. She is a long torso and refuses to wear dresses because you can't flip on the bars in a dress.
Taylor is built like DH's fam and she got all the curves. She and Alex are both 50% for weight, but Alex is 70% for height and she is 30%.
Thanks, ladies!
It's not that I like matchy sets, but things like polos that come with khaki pants are just cost effective (usually). I will definitely look into the more narrow brands and I suppose I will have to mix sizes with the ones that run wide like Carter's. I thought having a boy would make for easy shopping!
