wool covers and flannel wipes

Hi,

I am new to CDing and have begun prepping today!  Two questions:

Can I wash my wool cover with baby shampoo?  I read that I can use baby shampoo while lanolizing and am wondering if it's okay to do the prewash with it.

When making homemade wipes, can I just cut squares of fabric with peaking shears?  I don't mind having to use more than one wipe and would prefer not to begin a sewing project right now but I don't want them to unravel.

I tried the peaking shears at first and the wipes frayed first wash. They really need to be serged or hemmed.

As for the wool, I have never heard of using baby wash so I can't help there.

Thanks for your replies.  I guess I'll have to suck it up and sew them The lanolizing tutorial is great, too. I will definitely use my baby wash.
