Just wondering when everyone told their family and friends or when do they plan on telling them?

Told my parents around 6 weeks, my extended family and DH's family at 10 weeks. Friends as we see them.

I live out of state from my parents, so I waited a few weeks until they visited so I could tell them in person. I believe I was 8ish weeks. I told my extended family at a family gathering a month or so later right after our NT scan at 12 weeks.

My husband and I told both our parents one week after we found out, 5 weeks. We wanted to let this new life settle in. Initially we wanted to wait until 8 weeks but I couldn't wait to tell my mommy.

We told our parents and starting telling siblings on Father's Day weekend which was 8 weeks.  We've told a few close friends and will continue to tell siblings as we see them.  But I'm not going really public (ie. telling my work) until after I get back from vacation in mid August, when I'll be 16 weeks.  It's later than I'd prefer to wait, but my boss will be out, then I'll be out when he returns and I don't want him finding out from someone else.

We told our parents and siblings at 8 weeks, right after our first ultrasound.  We're planning on telling friends after our NT scan at 12 weeks.

We told our families at 10 weeks for both pregnancies.

Tested positive at 4w3d and we told our parents and siblings right away. Most of my family knows now - I am so excited I can't keep my mouth shut about it! I will tell the rest of our friends/family probably in the next few days if we hear the HB at our 10 week appointment tomorrow. If they can't find it I am going to wait until after the NT scan at 12 weeks.

It's completely up to you. My "rule" is that I tell the people who I would tell about a miscarriage anyway. Actually, after my miscarriage in April I ended up telling a lot of people (extended family and friends) about the miscarriage who I haven't told about my pregnancies during 1st tri. I don't know why I'm waiting. I'll see the extended family at the end of July when I'll be about 10 weeks, so I'll tell them then, probably.

I've had 2 miscarriages and I know how much it sucks to have to go tell everyone that you lost the baby, so with DD we didn't tell family until way after our first ultrasound and another dr. appt. at 14 weeks.  We live far away from family now, so I've told a few close friends around here but when we go home this summer we will tell our parents in person; I'll be 13 weeks.

With DD, we waited until 8 weeks to tell our parents and siblings.  We asked them to respect our wishes and not tell anyone until we were ready at 12 weeks.  Everyone else was told after 12 weeks, including work. 

My mother really offended me last time.  She was outright mad at me that she wasn't allowed to tell anyone.  So this time around, since she cannot play by my rules...she will find out when I am ready to share with everyone.  We have shared with my brother and DH's mother last week (6 weeks) already.  The rest will probably be closer to 10-12 weeks.

I always thought I would wait a while to tell everyone. But, now I can't wait to tell everyone. We will probably start telling people next week after I have my dating u/s.

Our blood test was right before Father's Day.....I'm really close with my dad, so we told him on Father's Day and he was over the moon excited.....we're telling DH's parents next week when we're camping and my mom/siblings after our ultrasound on 7/9.  I think once the ultrasound is done we'll broadcast it a little more.

Thanks everyone for the input.  We are anxious to tell everyone and Im so early.  We have a lot of family things the next couple weeks and thought of telling our parents and not anyone else until after the first trimester.  Im still flip flopping whether to tell.  We are thinking of telling my parents this weekend.  We shall see

I would like to wait until 14-15 weeks to tell anyone, but I don't know if I will be able to. I was already in maternity clothes with #1 by that time so if this one makes me blimp out faster I might be too fat (I know not much is true bump, but it doesn't really matter if you don't fit in your clothes).

I am also already having a hard time not telling my mom and my sister.

We told our parents the day we found out (4 weeks, 6 days). I have my first OB appointment next Thursday, and I'll be just around 8 weeks then. After the appointment, we plan on telling our immediate family (husband's brother and sister, my grandparents and aunt). Then I think we'll play it by ear and tell people as we see them.

We told parents and siblings at 4 weeks, and have slowly been telling other people.  I am waiting to tell my work, because they are a bunch of a**holes, and I don't feel like hearing the negativity. 

With my miscarriage, I was showing, so everyone knew I was pregnant.  I personally, didn't do much of the telling people what happened.  DH made it his goal in life that I would have to tell as few people as possible.  Having a prior loss has not deterred me from telling people early again.  I had less than a 1% chance of miscarry, and well I did.  So I choose to be happy about being pregnant, and want to share the happy news with others, so I will.
