Making a diaper work?

Baby is 5 weeks old and we finally started using cloth this week. The majority of our stash is grovia ai2 and unfortunately I cannot get a good fit on her.  I have both the snap and aplix covers.  They are gaping in the leg and leaking terribly!  I have 5 bg 4.0 that I'm using and loving but I'm not sure if one bad day in grovia merits giving up on them and purchasing more of the 4.0s. Any ideas on how I can maybe make these work before setting my debit card ablaze on cottonbabies?

I'd just give it more time.  Many OS diapers won't fit right until LO is a bit older.

Give it time. We started with prefolds and thirsties wrap. We loved them, but now I hate them! As DD grew they just weren't working for us anymore. Now we use flip covers and they are a grow with me, but we LOVE them!! Also, we bought bumkins AIO and they leaked terrible on DD. We gave them a rest for a few weeks and now they work for us! She just needed to chub up a little.

I used the grovia ai2s also when he was a little baby, they leaked and the poo would go off the liner, I hated them.  Now at 5months they work like a dream!  We found most of our stash on craigslist....check out used, they are awesome!

OS diapers are too big for a 5 week old unless she is over 13 lbs

Give it time... different diapers fit at different times.  Your favorite diaper in your stash will be constantly changing!

My DS didn't fit in his one size diapers until he was 10lbs.  Even then, it took a few weeks for his legs to chunk up enough for them to have a good fit.  Give it some time.

I don't start using OS until 12 lbs when they typically say they will work at 10.
