Does the fatigue ever lessen in 2nd trimester?

I have a few more high energy days...but Im 11 weeks with twins and I heard that you usually get some of your energy back b second trimester or is this not the case with twins. On my bad days, I barely have the energy to cook dinner, do laundry. The house cleaning...? no way until I get some energy back....

Any other thoughts?

  • I'm sure we are all different.  I did, but for a short period of time. A markedly shorter period than with a singleton pregnancy.

  • The 1st timester was the worse for me. I was constantly fatigue, dizzy and sick. By 2nd tri I felt a lot better! I was able to function for the most part completely normal. I still had to pace myself and drink TONS of water, but hopefully for you it will get better w/in the next few weeks! Hang in there!

  • I have up and down days.  Today I feel like I am not pregnant. Cooked my own meals and everything.  Yesterday I felt like some wave of tiredness hit me.

  • I sTopped throwing up at 13 weeks but didn't stop my zofran (because of heaving) until 15 weeks and didn't stop running to the toilet until 16 weeks. The though of food still turned me off until 32 weeks

  • I have a little more energy now but I am taking it very easy and try to keep feet up as much as possible.

Just listen to your body and if you need to rest and when you feel more energetic do more.

I was very lucky and did not get much MS beyond a bit of nausea in the evenings during my first tri, but I did need a lot of sleep! I would sleep for 12 hours straight on the weekends!

That has improved (thank goodness since I'm not sleeping as well now), but my fatigue now is more physical thanks to the weight gain and the arrival of the summer humidity. I need to remind myself to move slower.

  • I'm 16 weeks and I feel utterly exhausted all of the time!  I hope this doesn't last much longer, but I have a lot of family that is ready and willing to help, Thank God!

Thanks ladies for your responses...I never get morning sickness, just total exhaustion. I wish we could hire a weekly  maid to clean our house!Smile

Oh well, hope it will get better soon...(the exhaustion)..
