Why does everyone want an assortment? If you find one that fits well and you like, is there a reason to have several different kinds? I'm weird, and I think it would drive me crazy to have so many different ones instead of all of them matching.
Some people say if it fits now it may not fit later. Thats why its nice to try others. I personally think its fun to try different kinds. :-) Im addicted though. hehe
I like different kinds/fits during grow spurts and body changes. My favorite fitting diaper this month, might change next month. Having a variety keeps you from having an awkward stage where nothing fits right.
Also, I like having different diapers to fit under different cloths. I know my sized diapers are going to be my trimmest, and my fitteds are going to be best for naps. My AI2s are great for the diaper bag. AIOs and pockets are easy for non-CD people.
But the best reason, is the cuteness factor. No one brand is going to make all the patterns/colors you like best. Having a variety is fun. Plus, you may find a diaper you like even better than just having "one that works".

I have a couple of different kinds some I like for night time, others for around the house, and others for when we go out. Some are more absorbent and others are trimmer....
I basically had a stash of BG for DS. Then he went through a phase when learning to sit and crawl that the BG's would not work for him. The H&L on the waist was too stiff and he was so uncomfortable.
Some diapers work great now and then don't work later on. And sometimes it's just nice to have options because some brands are more absorbent than others, some fit differently.
I like having an assortment because I rotate through the day with brands to reduce any red marks DS has.

Got it! I'm so new to all of it, and I knew there must be some reason, but I just couldn't figure it out. Thanks!!
