Strollers on escalators

How does everyone feel about using the escalator with a stroller? Is threesome unspoken rule about it that I'm not aware of?

 We went to the mall today and I usually use my Beco. This was our first time with the stroller. Our mall is set up like a spider with 'leg' coming of of a center point and department stores at the end of each leg. Well there is only one elevator in the whole damn place and it's in the center(body of the spider). I walked back to the middle each time to use it but it felt ridiculous.

Our escalators have a No Strollers sticker.

Its rather dangerous to try to use a stroller on an escalator... Pretty sure most if not all places have signs to not do this.

If for some reason the baby isn't in the stroller & I have another person with me then I put the empty stroller on it.

There are warnings on escalators about not using anything with wheels on an escalator. I have taken our stroller up one a time or two but only when I or someone else is holding the baby. I will never EVER use the stroller on the escalator with the baby in it.

Ditto using the stroller on the escalator WITHOUT the baby in it. If LO is in the stroller I'd walk to the elevator (even if it was a long way and would feel silly like you did).

the department stores don't have elevators?  the malls near me only have one elevator in the main part of the mall as well, but the departments stores all have them as well.

I would not take a stroller, with the baby in it, on an escalator.

I think department stores have to have them, b/c of wheelchairs.

Well now I know why I felt silly. Of course the department stores have elevators! It didn't even cross my mind yesterday. (insert embarrassed face here)
