cramping after internal check

Just came back from my 39 week appt and being checked. I don't normally cramp afterwards sometimes just a few dull/light cramps that go away after 30 minutes or so.

However about two hours later I'm getting some intense cramping that hurts pretty bad like my period. I assume this is a normal part of being checked... but has anyone else had pretty intense cramping afterwards? I feel like I'm so sore I need to take a midol. They did measure 1-2 contractions this AM on my NST so not sure if it's a contraction or cramping due to exam.

Just wanted to see if anyone else cramps pretty bad after being checked. I mean obviously if it's contractions and it's the real deal I will know pretty soon...

Weird, same exact thing happened to me yesterday. I barely even feel those internal exams but yesterday's was intense and I was crampy after too. He did seem to be in there a tiny bit longer than usual. I'm only a finger tip dilated and 90% effaced.

I always have some cramping and feel kind of "blah" after internal exams. Mine tend to subside after about 2 hours or so. If I were you I would just keep an eye on them and see if they get more intense or time-able...good luck!
