So this might be obvious, but what are you ladies putting in the mesh feeders? I am on a quest to find something E likes, because everything we've tried so far he doesn't seem to care for. We've tried: bananas, carrots and peas, all puree. I did do a little 'BLW' and give him a stick of green pepper to gum, and he loved it! I think the key is he wants to do it himself, so I'm hoping the mesh feeders will give him the independence he needs but make me more comfortable with him feeding himself. I think I might try pears or apples next, I just steam them and put them in the feeder, right? Should I peel too?
I should mention, he loves the puffs. E and Rocky (our puppy) react now when they see the canister come out, but one cannot survive on puffs alone!
Re: mesh feeder question
We do banana, peaches, pears and apples. All steamed (except the banana) and peeled.
I like the mesh feeders, but they are major PITA to clean IMO.
DD LOVES honeydew melons in hers. We also do frozen apple chunks, frozen pears, and mangoes.
ETA: I've found the best way to clean them is to put them in a tub of super hot water right away when DD's finished. I spray the chunks out if there's any left, leave them to soak for a little while, and then wash.
