i'm 36 weeks pregnant and i went in for my group b and cervix check today. my midwife felt around on my stomach because i told her that i felt that my baby had moved. i never felt her flip or anything (i assume at this point that would be a strong movement), but for months she used to always kick the very top of my uterus (practically kicking my right boob) and now i felt kicks, or movement on the left side, about belly button height, and not her usual movements on the right, but when i feel around with my hand, i feel hardness on my right side, so i know part of her is there, i'm just wondering if it's her head or butt.
when my midwife felt around, she said it was hard to tell how the baby was facing, and when she did a dilation check, sure enough, i was closed, so she couldnt feel for baby's skull bones. i have an ultrasound scheduled for monday to see where our little girl is located, but i'm wondering what a breech baby feels like for those of you who know your LO is breech right now. thanks!
Re: what does a breech baby feel like?
this sounds veeeery similar to my situation. did they schedule you for a c-section? i see you are close in due date with me. by the time i have my ultrasound, i'll be 37 weeks. wondering what my options will be if she is in fact breech. i know sometimes they try to flip the baby, but some doctors don't like doing that.
thanks for your experience so far! i'll try to wait patiently for monday's ultrasound!
My baby is in the frank breech position and it sounds a lot like what you are describing. I feel a hard "lump" to the right of my belly button that is her head. Her kicks are to the left side of my belly.
My OB office won't deliver a breech baby, they said it's not safe, etc... and honestly, the idea of trying to deliver a baby butt first really worries me. So we have a c-section scheduled for July 5th. It's definitely not what I expected, but it's starting to sink in.
have you ever played softball?
I have a softball like lump right below my ribs. its sways from left to right, but never down past the belly button.
that is her head.
there is a mass of lumpyness below the softball - that is the rest of her.
she's frank breech and running out of room. kicks and punches are more like wiggles now.
THIS----
I am a lucky lady to have not one, but 2 softballs up there!!!! lol. Definite c-section for me.
haha! troublemaker indeed! great news though!
