okay ladies, need some reassurance or personal experience. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and have been on bedrest since 20 wks for placental abruptions and pre-term labor yuckiness. Was having contractions and some spotting monday and was checked by my OB.
With my prior two pregnancies with the same problems, I would bleed/spot and contract but never open up. Well surprise, I saw my doctor's face drop during the exam and she whispered, "your body is laboring."
Off to labor and delivery I go. Terbutaline, antibiotics and steroid shots. checked out by my MFM and he found a small abruption that could have caused all this. Given reassurance that 34 weeks is great, baby is measuring exactly where she should be, and I know that the statistics are on our side but I really want to make it to at least 37 weeks if not longer (DH gets back at 37w). I asked about cervical length but our little girl's head was too far engaged he said to measure and that a physical exam was best indicator. Freaked me out even more. He said try for a couple of weeks but that the baby was doing great and would likely need a NICU stay but not too terrible if delivered now.
Anyone have experience with being at this stage and able to make it for a while?
