So I had my levels checked again today and I am at 5, which I guess is a good thing. I hated leaving the hospital on Saturday not knowing what was happening, this at least gives me some closure. I'm still a little confused by some things the nurses have told me over the phone and thought maybe you could help...
1. This morning when I some with a nurse, she said that the bleeding I'm having now is the miscarriage and not a period. The lady in the afternoon said that this is technically a period because my number was at 5. I'm still clotting. Is this considered a period?
2. The nurse said I could try and should try again next month if DH and I were emotionally ready to. She said that I would be more fertile the cycle after a miscarriage. Have you ever heard this before and if so, why would I be more fertile following a miscarriage? This confuses me.
Thanks!
Re: Some questions maybe you can answer...
Crap...I'm on the wrong board.
Ouch!
Hi there, I'm sorry you're going through this.
I'm not completely sure about your situation, but by 5 I assume you're referring to beta levels? Yes, this is very low and because of the bleeding I would say it does sound like either your period, or due to the low beta, maybe a chemical pregnancy.
For your second question, I hope I can help. For my first pregnancy I had a missed m/c. Essentially I "was" pregnant and then the pregnancy stopped progressing around 6 weeks. But my body didn't miscarry and I had to have a procedure called a D&C at what would have been almost 12 weeks. My dr gave me the OK to try again as soon as I wanted to, and we became pregnant 2 weeks later, before having another period. That pregnancy resulted in my healthy little girl.
My m/c was one of the most difficult things I've been through. It was hard to stay positive, but we were so lucky to get pregnant again right after.
I hope that helps. xo

Really?! Did you know you were ovulating, or was it a complete surprise. I m/c naturally and was told not to have sex for 2 weeks due to risk of infection.
Im so sorry to be posting about mc on 1st trimester- I thought I was on m/pl. I know you ladies do not want to be reading about this. I am on my iPad and can't delete for some reason. I tried!
You don't have to apologize. It's a reality, and m/c happens more often than people even know or talk about. I felt really alone at that time... it's important to know that you're not alone.
I'd always been one to track my period, but I didn't necessarily 'chart'. I knew that typically I'd ovulate around 2 weeks after a period. I had read somewhere that after a m/c, the time that the m/c occurred could be 'counted' like a period, and there is a chance that you'll just ovulate as usual 2 or so weeks later. We tried around that time (2 weeks after the D&C), and were happy to find out that I did get pregnant. I believe that you're more fertile as your body was preparing for pregnancy - extra hormones, etc.
Feel free to ask me any other questions if you have... you can PM me if you want to.
