Swaddle Blankets

Our girls are outgrowing their thin swaddle blankets and they have never held their arms down very well. Ive been looking up some other options and came across a Woombie, anyone ever use this? If not what worked best for you? Thanks!

Re: Swaddle Blankets

  • I found the best blankets for swaddling to be the Aden & Anais blankets - the regular ones, not the Target brand ones as I have heard these are a bit smaller (they also work great for a bottle prop when needing to burp a baby Big Smile), but others also swear by the Miracle Blanket. Sorry, have never heard of the Woombie.

Ditto this and they are great for warm weather.  We also used Miracle Blankets and they worked well too.  They have separate flaps that you wrap around their arms to keep them down.  No experience with the Woombie since it has come out since my girls were little.

  • We like the SwaddleMe's and we also just bought the Magic Sleep Suit since they're outgrowing swaddles and starting to roll. Honestly I wish we had started breaking the swaddles closer to 3 months (that's when the sleep suit manufacturer suggests) because at that point they didn't flail as much and weren't as strong. I've enjoyed the great sleep they've had with the swaddles but DD2 is giving us a heck of a time breaking it now, but also breaks out on her own and wakes herself up.

  • The wombie was highly recommended to us, so we got 2 of them. The boys hated them! They were kicking and fussing all night, and I'm sure we had them in the right size (if they are too big then they will def be able to move around). Anyway, we returned them. Great in theory, and probably will work well if your little ones like a loose swaddle, but just didn't work for us. Oh, we also got the Houdini model and it still had too much give.

  • I love the Halo Sleep Sack Swaddlers. I'm too simple to use the Miracle Blanket, apparently. I also love the Aden + Anais muslin swaddle blankets.

  • We use Halo sleep sacks at night. We have both the fleece and the cotton. I haven't been swaddling for naps yet, but the Summer Swaddle Me's would be good for naps because they are lighter and could go over clothes.

I used true womb swaddle blankets for almost five months. I highly recommend them!
