Cabbage leaves should be fine and will not impact milk for the next baby (like, you can eat cabbage so why would putting it on your skin be bad?). I have heard sage and/or peppermint, in the form of essential oils or tea. Also antihistamines (Sudafed, benadryl). I haven't researched these for during pregnancy and I don't have my list from my doc handy, so do your own research. But I am like 95% that they are ok in second trimester.
We are done nursing as of about 2wks ago. Over the course of a few weeks, I was not offering at bedtime but not refusing if she asked. She started to skip a day or two, then would ask to nurse again, and then skip again. When it had been a full week, I figured we were done done. She had been having frozen milk in a sippy 1-2x/day at daycare and that's done, too. We have literally one bag left that we will have tomorrow. I cried thru the last two, so I can only imagine my emotions tomorrow.
@Sketner610 take some Sudafed, it will help you dry up.
ETA: you can also express a little just for comfort but the Sudafed should help move things along and not put you at risk for clogs/mastitis. The wooorst, I hope you avoid both.
@DuchessOfCambridge A friend also recommended sudafed but I assumed it wasn’t safe while pregnant. Happy to know I can take it. Also I was considering pumping but wasn’t sure if I should do just a little to ease the soreness or if I should pump myself dry.
@optbaby2017 I balled like a baby after my last nursing session on Friday and DH had to calm me down. It’s hard to break that bond ☹️
@Sketner610 eek I momentarily forgot about pregnancy?! I know some drs okay it but others don't, so check with yours first. Cabbage leaves are definitely pregnancy safe. Sorry about that, pregnant brain forgot we're pregnant 🤦
Would definitely just pump to ease soreness, not all the way.
@Sketner610 I'm not a doctor or anything, but I don't think it follows logically that cabbage leaves now would somehow mess up the milk you'll be producing 5 months from now.
Maybe a hot shower and hand-express for comfort, but mostly just let yourself dry up if it's not too uncomfortable.
