Can anyone help me figure this out....dr called about some blood work I did on the day of my WTF appointment last Tuesday and said that the test we were doing was a AMH test which has something to do with the ovulation reserve I think... I can never process what he says when I talk to him on the phone! Has anyone done this blood work and do you remember what your level number was. He said that normal levels are anywhere from a 1-6 . Mine came back unregistering! OMG what does that mean..., I'm all dried up??? He wants to run the test again because he said the last time we did the test 6 months ago it was normal but when I did my first IVF I only made three eggs. Even though they were good quality but didn't implant but he expected to get way more eggs out of me since I'm only 31. Now I'm fully feaked out and won't know anything for a while because he's going to have me test again three days into my next period which shouldn't be till the first week of July!!! Any insight from anyone right now would help!!!!! Thanks!

Re: AMH levels????
https://www.advancedfertility.com/amh-fertility-test.htm
AMH is just one piece of the puzzle (along with E2, FSH, AFC, etc.), and I can make anywhere from 13 to 1 egg, same protocol, same meds so some cycles just are not good ones. Mine was .68 at it's lowest. Sorry you're dealing with this tough situation. For the record, I've seen lots of women come and go and they can only make 1-2 embryos from their cycles, poor response but good quality.
AMH is a relatively new test to determine ovarian reserve. There are conflicting opinions on its accuracy, but in general they say that below a 1 is indicative of low reserve/ poor response. Some ladies have come back with low AMH, only to stim just fine for IVF. Some ladies need higher doses of meds/ less supression but still produce a decent number of eggs (me). Some ladies do not respond well at all no matter what. It seems like there is a correlation between the two, but not necessarily a hard line.
Were your AFC and FSH levels normal? What meds and dosages were you on for your first IVF? Low AMH may mean a change in protocol to help you, but it's certainly not the nail the in coffin. Don't let Dr. Google scare you too thoroughly. Keep us posted!
Dx DOR (AMH .49), Stage 3/4 Endo, Septate Uterus
