march2008

I hope I'm remembering right that it was your DD who recently started STTN on her own.

Evie has STTN 3 nights over the past 8 days (yay!!)  I was just wondering if your daughter started out like this and then it got more consistent?  Also, once she started doing it consistently, has she woken up at all, and if she has, did you nurse her or just comfort her or what?

I guess I'm just wondering if I should assume she's hungry if she does wake up, because she started doing on her own, or assume she can go the whole time w/o food because she's been doing it.

Sorry for my rambling, just wondered what your experience has been.

Re: march2008

  • It is me!! I'm still so excited about it, lol! She started doing it just before Mother's Day and I remember joking to DH that it was my gift from her. It happened over the course of like 2 weeks. She STTN for a couple of days, then woke up one night and I nursed her, then she was back to STTN for another few more days.

All of the sudden, she just stopped waking up at all during the night, with the exception of one flukey night when she woke up crying at 5 am. I asked DH to go in there and try to comfort her back to sleep because I was afraid to mess up the good thing we had going! He tried for a long time and it did not work. I ended up having to nurse her after she got really upset and I felt totally awful b/c she may have been truly hungry.

She just sleeps the whole night through now from about 8 pm until somewhere between 6 and 7 am.  I still can't believe it. I was hoping this would be the way it would happen - that she would just outgrow it eventually ...and she did! I hope your LO has reached that point, too! :)
