Share Your LO Favorite Outside Toys

MIL gave me a check this weekend for DS, apparently she bought my nephew a large swingset and wanted to give us the same.

We dont have a flat spot for a swingset or I would just get him one and I do want to get him something for outside. We have tons of ride on toys etc, and a sand box so those ideas are out.

Is there an outside toy that your LO loves? If so share!

  • We have a wagon, a small slide, a playhouse, a picnic table, and a t-ball set.

  • It's not a toy, technically, but I am so glad we bought an outdoor kids picnic table thing (Lifetime brand) three years ago. It is perfect for outdoor crafts and outdoor meals, it's big enough that I can sit there if I need to, and it gets used all the time.

D loves playing in the little tykes bounce house at friends.   We don't have one since we're afraid our dog will try to go in it and rip it with his nails.   He is always out on the yard when we play in the yard(gets upset if left in the house).

D loves any type of powerwheels ride on toy.  I know you said you have lots of ride ons but if you don't have a powerwheels, you might want to consider getting one.

DS loves chalk, chalk and chalk and ignores most of the outside toys I bought him. LOL  The neighbor kids love his Little Tikes T-Ball set.

Do you have room for a playhouse? You could get a good, long-lasting (i.e. not Little Tikes/Step 2) one that he could still "hang out" in as he gets older.

What about a basketball hoop? They make some full size ones that adjust all the way down to little kid height.

  • THanks ladies! I really like the bounce house idea! Esp bc we have a huge basement and its something that we could use year round.

I also need to remember the tball set, and bball hoop. I know he would like both of those. We have a good yard for a slip and slide.....we'll see on that one.

I also thought about a small putting set. He loves golfing with daddy! I appreciate your comments!
