I think both have their advantages, but get accurate measurements. If it won't fit through your door, won't do much good. Some are VERY wide!
Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!
Nov. 16, 2015 FET of single adopted 5AA embryo - BFN
I'm surprised by your poll results so far. I really think the side by side is so much better than the tandem styles. Tandem is so difficult to steer, especially if your kiddos are heavy!
I don't have 2 on the outside yet, but I got the Maclaren Twin Techno. It is a side by side but still small. I only wanted to buy one double stroller and we use our stroller more for day trips to the zoo and museums. I wanted both kids to have a good view and both seats to have a full recline.
At the daycare where I used to work, we had one of each. The side by side one was SO much better; the longer one was a pain in the butt to steer (you had to pick the back up and pull it to where you wanted it to turn). I'm sure if you got the longer one, you'd get used to it and would eventually learn how much space you need to turn it properly kind of like when you park a car, you know the radius of it and how much you can turn into the space before reversing and trying again. I think it would be pretty close to the same thing.
I think if I had to choose one though, I would ultimately choose the side by side.

I have a sit n stand (with the option of using 2 seats instead of the stand part) and haven't had any problems with it. However I have a friend with a side by side and she is always running into things or can't fit.
'Til He returns, or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I stand.
i have a friend who has been looking for a double stroller and prefers the side by side... she is looking at this britax double... https://amzn.to/Lf4onH
