Trying to decide if the extra $80 is worth it to bump up from the frontier 85 to the frontier 85 sict.
Anyone have any personal experience with either of them? Also, I know the sict are bigger. Will they both fit in the back of a 4 door 2011 Civic on those rare days when my husband has my Odyssey??
Thanks!
Kim
Re: Britax Frontier 85 vs Frontier 85 SICT
Honestly, I looked at both and just went with the 85. I thought the SICT was a bit overkill---and huge.
I have a camry and they fit wonderfully. Good luck! Oh, and check out albeebaby.com they always have wonderful prices.
This. We have 2 normal 85 Frontiers and love them... we also bought them from albeeay.com

We have the blue Frontier 85 and I can't imagine a bigger one. Its hard for me to see past as is. Mine is in the backseat of my Oddsey (minivan) and can only fit one backless booster beside it (for DD & her friends--who are 7 & 8). The otherside is squished. I imagine you couldn't fit any other seat dircetly to the side of the SICT--not sure if that matters to you.
At albeebaby the SICt is only $30 more.
I love the frontier for the east of installment, cup holders, move able back...My son is starting to ask for it to be in a booster (he is almost 5) because he sees his sister in one. Sometimes, around town, I let him ride booster-way and its a good fit.
I had the same question before I bought my son's Frontier. I went to the store and brought them both out to my car to try them inside. I have a Nissan Altima. Went with the regular Frontier. I felt like the SICT was overkill and just a beast.
I am not sure you would be able to get 2 into the backseat of a Civic either. I think the SICT would be something to consider if you had an older car or were planning on routinely having a passenger sit directly next to the seat. In that case the SICT might be more beneficial.
I almost felt like Britax introduced the SICT just to potentially get a bit more money on the seat. It does seem unecessary to me....I intially felt like the newer, more expensive one might be better, but after looking at them in person and trying them both in my car, I changed my mind.
I do like the Cardinal cover for the SICT a lot, but we went with a Maui Blue Frontier and love it!
