We said goodbye to our baby boy, Isaac, who was born sleeping at 21wks3d.
I am just so heartbroken. I didn't know pain could feel like this. I am trying to remain guiltless in knowing this is nothing that we deliberately did but I am still his Mama and wanted to give him life. It all happened SO fast, I still need to process. We have been working very closely with counselors to get through this horrific time.
We planted the flowers in our front garden just hours before we got the news about Isaac being so ill. We are having him cremated and will be placing him in the corner of the garden as our little place. It is all so fresh but we talk about planting the flowers annually to remember him
</3
We did get preliminary tests back from our amnio the same day that he went to sleepEverything on the first read was normal. That was only 1 of 4 tests. The rest will take 4-6 weeks. Normal is good for future....but for now I just want answers!
We spent some time together last night looking at his hand and foot prints. He was just SO perfect. We chose not to hold or see him after delivery because of the many complications. Speaking with counselors and doctors, they did not think it was the best idea. Having carried him for 21w3d and having his hand and foot prints still makes it so real to us and I can remember him as perfect as I want. He was a very loved boy.
Re: Sleep tight, Sweet Boy :-(
I'm so sorry for you loss
I'm glad you have his little perfect footprints and handprints to keep with you always. You should get a stone made with his little footprints to put with him and your flowers in the garden - just an idea.
T&P your pain subsides as quickly as it can, even though I know it will never completely go away. You are right, there was nothing you could do, you were a good mamma and he knows that.
