sun shades in car question

My LO is still sitting rear facing in her car seat.  We have sun shades on our back door windows but so much sun seems to come in through the back window - right into LO's eyes.  I drive a medium sized 4 door sedan.  Can anyone tell me if it's legal to put those sun shades on the back window?  I feel like it's probably not legal but I honestly don't know.  Any ideas how I can shield her eyes from the sun coming in from the back window?

Thanks!

We have the same question.  I'll be curious what others have done.  We are considering buying a cling-on tinted shade.  I figured that was more transparent than the roll down sun shade we use on the door windows.

When they are RF in an infant seat, I just pull the canopy to shield their eyes. When my son was in a convertible seat, we taught him to close his eyes or pull his hat down if the sun was bothering him. He also has sunglasses that he can wear.
