Keep in mind my top 3 are Noah, Colin, or Alexander. MN will be Grayson after my dad. We definitely have a style conflict.
Zane- eh, I do hate it with a passion, but it is not my favorite either and he got it from the TV show Eureka.Justin- Not bad but seems a bit outdated, reminds me of the 80s/90sGarrett- eh again don't hate it but I don't love it Trent- our old roommate just named her kid this so it is outXavier- not sure on this one. Doesn't seem like a good sibset with our first, Tyler Jacob. Troy- from a TV show absolutely no Community names..hate the show, hate the names.Jack or Jackson- Like but doesn't go with Grayson. I am not a fan of Jack by itself.Jacob- We already have Tyler Jacob.......really?Greg- again from another TV show (House)Riddick- I think from a movie and absolutely not.Ryu-I have no freaking idea... Street Fighter?? I have nephews Xander, Buck and Austin.
To me, Tyler (like Xander) would go well with Buck.
It's a 5th generation name in DH's family. So, while I was wide-eyed and mouth agape the first time I heard DH's MN, it is definitely a great name IMHO.
Can you start watching TV shows and movies that feature your favorite names?
Since you both like Jack, have you considered Jackson Gray or John (Jack) Grayson?
Suggestions - Connor, Gavin, Benjamin, William, Ryan, Zachary
Aww, don't hate on Community...it's a great show!
Anyway, the names aren't really terrible to me (except maybe Riddick, Ryu, and Buck), and I don't think you two have such different tastes. I think you guys can find a common ground.
You two should watch Lost together...there's a bunch of great names on that show!

Well, I just named my son Zane, so obviously I absolutely love the name! (we just like the name; we've never seen Eureka.) If we have a second son, we probably would use Tyler since we love that name too; so I think the names go fine together.
Since your DH seems to like different names and you like Alexander, how about Zander/Xander as the full name?
Well his first choice was Zane so looks like we both ,might have Zane and Tyler's
I don't think just because a name is from television that it should be ruled out. Now, if you hate the name because of the name itself or association, that'd be something else. Mind you, I'd be willing to name my kid after a video game character as long as it was spelled correctly, didn't sound dated, and was a legitimate name.
Some people consider naming their second child after the first child's mn. Nothing wrong with that as most people rarely use the middle name anyway.
If your DH likes Xavier and you like Alexander, maybe Xander (NMS) or convince DH to somehow like Alexander with the potential of calling him Xander?
Of the names your DH has listed, I like Peter and Garrett. Colin and Noah are NMS but I think Colin and Tyler go well together.
I do like some of his names, but some are just NMS. Anyway, the whole Jacob as a middle name and a first name...I had a girl in my class whose first name was her older sisters middle name and her older sisters middle name was the eldest sisters first name and finally the eldest sister's first name was her mother's middle name. So, if I totally confused you it would go something like this:
Mom: Susan Lynn
Eldest Sister: Lynn Julia
Older Sister: Julia Marie
Girl in my class: Marie ____
Personally, I wouldn't do this, but it's not terrible. Actually thought it was kinda cool in this situation.

I definitely like your choices better than your DH's, but they're not all awful imo. I was going to say I like Tyson, but then I saw what your son's name is...yeah, not at all is right! Even though other people have evidently done it, I think it's weird to give one son the other's middle name as a first name. It's like you couldn't be bothered to come up with a name of his own.
I like Garrett, Trent, and Xavier. How often do you see the old roommate who used Trent? Would you like the name if she hadn't used it?

I agree that Justin is very dated and Jackson wouldn't work with Grayson. Greg is just NMS and doesn't sound good with Grayson as well.

I'm used to Buck because I'm from the South, but to me it's more of an acquired nn not a given name.
Peter is nice, but NMS. Zane, I like, but not with Tyler. They seem two different styles to me.
I love Garrett. Jacob is a little popular, but if only it being DS's mn first I wouldn't let that get in the way. My DH's fn is his brother's mn and it isn't an issue.
My favorites with Tyler are Collin and Garrett.
