Hi. I am a 35 year old woman with one 3 year old child who has been trying for 8 months and 6 rounds of clomid to have another baby. I feel as though I am doing everything right. Prenatals, OPK tests, etc. Recently it had come to our attention that my husband may have a condition where he thinks he ejaculated, but he actually did not. This is so upsetting. I dont know how to grasp this. I dont know what to do. He went to a doctor, but his follow through is terrible. Last month "everything" seemed to work, and we both really thought he ejaculated, and we had relations the day I got my positive OPK and the day after..plus every other day after that and even a few before the positive OPK. My period is due June 2...and i am already getting my signature back cramps and nipples soreness that comes along with my periods. in fact my PMS pain is a lot worse this month. I am devastated. i guess our next step is fertility doctor?? We saw one with my first son and got preggers after one round of clomid. Any help?
Re: Devastated
I can understand your frustrations. Many of us have been trying for a while on here, too.
I must say that I am a little surprsed that your doctor has done 6 rounds of clomid and that you are not being monitored by a specialist. I hope you and your husband both see specialists and get the answers you need to move forward with TTC #2. good luck!
All this. 6 rounds of Clomid is the max (although, the manufacturer doesn't recommend going more than 3, which I find amazing).
Also, have you done any fertility education? Your most fertile days are the ones leading up to your Ovulation day and then somewhat the day of and the day after. That's it. When you commented about your timing, it was mostly the day of Ovulation and after. Most schools of thought say that that is too late.
I hope this helps. The women here are great resources. But I would definitely reinforce the need to be seen by a specialist-- especially given your husband's situation...

I would make an appt for your DH to see a urologist and offer to go with him to the appointment. Men don't like to deal with issues of MFI so he may be putting his head in the sand by not following up with the doctor.
This board is full of wonderful women going thru various TTC and IF issues and are a wealth of support and knowledge, so you've come to the right place! Welcome!
I totally agree!
