Nervous to leave LO

My sister is watching G tomorrow and I am suddenly super nervous.  She is really good with him when she is playing with him, but I think she gets nervous when she actually has to CARE for him.  I have left G with her once before but her husband was there - he is really good with LOs in general.  And DH and I just went out to dinner so we were close by if anything happened.  I have jury duty tomorrow and can't take my cell phone in with me.  DHs new job won't allow him to even touch his phone if he is in the truck.  I have left lots of numbers for her to use if needed and I trust that everything will be alright.  I just think I am so nervous because I have no way of calling to check in during the day.  I am hoping they will have a pay phone - I know, what is that! - so at least I can call if I feel I need to.  Please pray that I get out of there early!

You and LO will be just fine.  I think you will get quite a few breaks so hopefully you can call then and check in.  Good luck!

Also, having a child under 2  (I think it is under two) is a justifiable reason to get out of jury duty. I was called and just sent in my reason for why I was not able to appear..

  • I've had jury duty several times... I always use my phone in the central jury room (the big room you sit in to see if you get called up).  Then the time I went through voir dire, I had my phone with me then used it on breaks.  Most people did the same.  I saw all kinds of people on the phone in the hallways and texting and the like i nthe Central Jury room.  Just a thought- I know being able to check in makes it easier :)

This... and just think, once this goes well, you won't be as nervous if you have to leave LO again.

  • I'm sure they will have a phone in the waiting room that you can use to call your sister when you get there and you could give her that number in case of an emergency. But I'm sure everything will go smoothly and your DS will have a blast spending the day with his auntie!
