Lactose overload?

My 2 month old seems to have all the symptoms except for green poo.

I'm breast feeding and he seems to be hungry about every hour and a half. I think he gets bad stomach aches and acts hungry because it helps his tummy for a bit. However this is a vicious cycle.

Is it normal at this age for him to be hungry that often or could it be lactose overload?

His symptoms:
Frequent watery bowel motions
Bowel motions often have a slightly offensive odor
Bowel motions are 'explosive'
Bloating
Stomach pain
Excessive gas
Irritability/screaming
wakefulness
Baby is constantly hungry

Re: Lactose overload?

  • BF babies will have watery stools.  If they are not watery there is a problem.  Are you switching him to the other breast too soon?  Let him finish the one breast before going to the other one.  If not you will have the lactose problem.
