When can we use Beco Gemini back carry?

I know the instruction booklet says 6 months, when baby has full head/neck control.  But if the head rest is up, I don't see why baby needs full control.  When did you start the back carry?  Our LO is impressively strong, can we start a little earlier?

    We have the Gemini and I haven't tried a back carry yet.  I was just thinking about trying it soon.  (DS is 7.5 months old.)

    I've been thinking about trying it with DD soon but if I do it will be with DH's assistance and monitoring and just around the house. If it goes well we'll branch out a little.
