Crying and Standing

Hi ladies!

DD is 10months old and crawling all over the place. She pulls herself up to her knees to get to stuff but no standing yet. The weird thing is, if I pull her up and have her hold onto a toy, my leg, or anything for that matter she just cries and cries. I am wondering if it hurts her legs to put weight on them? Or maybe it scares her? Anyone else experience this? TIA

DD freaked out any time we tried to stand her up holding on to something or holding our hands at that age.  She's just gotten comfortable being stood up or pulling herself up to a stand in the past few days.  I don't think it was hurting her; she was just wary and wasn't ready yet!

  • It's unlikely that it's hurting her legs.  She is probably just crying because it is totally new and feels weird to her.  This is what DD did when we had early intervention evaluate her because she wasn't crawling; they put her into positions that were important developmentally but she wasn't used to, and she cried so that I thought it was hurting her, but they assured me it wasn't.  A few days later she not only doesn't cry from these things, but she does them on her own.
