Has/ or is anyone had/planning a natural (unmedicated) delivery without taking any birthing classes? We are at a point that because of our schedules and other factors we may not be able to take any birthing classes. I am just wondering of others experiences.
TIA

We did not take any natural birthing classes, but we did take the hospital's regular birthing class.
Unless you and your DH both have read up on the stages of labor, and are familiar with your hospital's policies, I would suggest taking some sort of class. If you don't know what to expect, it's going to make it a lot harder to advocate for yourself if you end up at odds with the medical staff.

I didn't take any but read a couple books. What made NB possible for me was my support person. I originally thought my DH would be good but the truth is he was pretty useless.
My MIL ended up being my support person (sorta random how this happened) and made all the difference in the world. She applied counter pressure and gave words of encouragement that by the time it became unbearable, I knew I was too close to ask for any pain meds.
That's encouraging. Other than reading books and watching videos I'm not planning on taking any classes. I'll trust the Lord, my body, DH, and Midwife.
Thanks ladies,
I wish y'all the best
