Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How is your 11-12 month old sleeping?

B has always been a pretty good sleeper, STTN since about 3months minus random bouts with teething or major milestones like crawling. But here lately he seems to be majorly regressing and I'm not sure what to do. I think it might be teething (he already has 8 teeth!) bc he keeps his finger in the side of his mouth a lot during the day but I'm not sure and teething tablets aren't helping. He has been waking up anywhere from 1-3 times a night for over a week now. He will sit up in his crib just crying until I go in and get him then he is usually fine. That's how he has always done while teething too... So I'm just not sure if he is in pain or if he is getting to the point that he just wants me to come get him...and I don't want to start that habit!

Anyone able to relate or have any experience or advice? I feel like he is a newborn again except it was easier back then bc I knew he was waking up to eat! Lol

  • He could be cutting his molars right now.

  • My baby has also regressed. He'll be 1 on the 26th and for the last month or so has been waking during the night again and I'm not exactly sure why especially since he eats more now than when he was STTN. I try patting him back down but thats not as easy now as it used to be. Holding him close or nursing him seems to work though. I'm really looking forward to him STTN again. You are not alone mama.

  • If nothing else it is always nice to know that it's not just me! I have thought about trying CIO but I am afraid that it is those molars and I would hate to leave him crying if he is actually hurting and I just don't realize it!

Anyone know if molars usually take longer to cut through?

  • Right there with you! DD hasn't always been a "perfect" sleeper but pretty dang close....until the last couple weeks that is. She is up a few times a night crying and sitting up in her crib usually until I go in there and lay her back down. Luckily all the little crying bouts are pretty short (knock on wood) but it still sucks getting up over and over. My guess for my DD is that it's a combo of her teeth and her learning to walk.

No advice just wanted to let you know you aren't alone:)
