Did I make a mistake? NB stash

I didn't start CD with DD#1 till she was 5 months old, and she fit in one size pockets/covers.  I'm building my NB stash for DD#2, and I would like your opinion.  I think I may have made some poor decisions...

24 gerber prefolds (I know a lot of ppl don't like these, I used them on DD as my first foray into CDing and I loved them)

6 GMD newborn fitteds--excited to try these.  They seem promising.

4 Thirsties XS covers

6 Econobums prefolds (hate these, left over from DD's first stash, I usually just use them to line the changing pad)

12 Sunbaby size 1's with bamboo inserts (I really hate microfiber...plus I have a ton leftover from DD#1's BG's)

My worry is the Sunbabies--I haven't recieved them yet, but I had read a lot of people say you can use them on newborns since they are so small.  I wanted to save money, my DH wanted BG newborns, which I would love too but they are so pricy. 

Did I make a mistake?  Will the Sunbabies be good for the newborn?  I am sad thinking I may have wasted $90 on dipes the new baby won't fit in...I am anxious to feel I'm prepared for this LO's arrival and probably overthinking...

Any thoughts/advice would be helpful...

Sunbabies did not fit our now 18 month old (and the first we CD with) until she hit a little over 10 pounds. The fit smaller than the ALVA did, but I wish I wouldn't have bought so many.  As soon as her thighs got chunky, they got pushed to the back of the stash.

I'm not familiar with Sunbabies but I don't think you made a mistake by any means.  You have enough prefolds and fitteds to hold you over until the Sunbabies fit if they're too big right off the bat.  I personally think you made a smart decision by buying more of the diaper that will take you from almost newborn to well beyond the newborn stage.

Thanks for your opinions   I was avoiding the BG newborns because I knew they would have such a limited lifespan for so much $$.  I LOVE BG, they make up 90% of DD's stash, but I wanted something a little more versitile for the NB stage and beyond, since I'll have 2 in cloth (eek).

Thanks for putting my mind at ease...I hope the Sunbabies fit before 10 lbs, but we'll see!  DD was 6lbs 12oz at birth, 3 weeks early induced for medical reasons, so hopefully this LO will be a little bigger if I can make it to 40 weeks.  DD just had her 18 month checkup today and she still isn't 20 lbs yet, 19lbs 9 oz.  She's a tiny little bugger!

The only thing I'd disagree with is the gerbers prefolds, but you've already said you've had luck with them.  I can't comment on the sunbabies, but I do know it took DS a month to fit into his OS diapers.  Just know that unless they're adjustable that your LO may not be in newborn diapers for long.
