Don't forget the colossal failure that was "Footloose" redone.

I never was a fan of the original Footloose. I'd rather watch Tremors to get my Kevin Bacon fix. Graboids.

    Agreed.

I was obsessed with Titanic when it came out. I watched it recently though and I realized I actually kind of hate it. I also really hate that damn Celine Dion song. I could do without ever hearing it again.

It's one of my first memories.  I was 3.  I cried.

I also had a sweet ET sleeping bag.

I still have my light up ET finger. It's a little creepy.

My parents wouldn't let me go see that movie when it came out because of the naked drawing scene and sex in the car scene. I was pisssed. I was definetly old enough. All my friends went together and I felt like a fool.

That's all I think about when I think about Titanic. I'm still bitter about it, obviously.

My dad wouldn't let me mom take me to see it because I wasn't 13. I had to wait for it to be released to video and then he let my 11, 9 and 8 year old siblings watch it too. I'm still bitter.

i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

Notice in ET how everything is shot and presented from a child's perspective. Adults look taller, dire situations are amplified because children are so terrified by the unknown.

    It's a masterpiece, I tell ya.

ET makes me cry. I am not ashamed of this. I love that wrinkly little alien.

Also, I can see that doofus Bill Paxton taking the necklace to a "museum" only to actually sell it at Sotheby's for some ridiculous amount of money.

Lay off Bill Paxton. I luff him.

There was room on that door for Jack too. Selfish Rose.

I never understood why she wouldn't take turns on the door with him? IF you can't both fit (which you totally could have), why not be like "hey I'll do ten on and then we will switch".

    Greedy hor.

Yeah, Jack's death was fracking lame and far-fetched. They both could have clutched that damn dresser.

    It was a door.

It was my first movie.  I saw it at the drive-in.  I.was.terrified.  The plastic sheeting, the way Elliot looked when he was sick.... ::shivers::

Pretty sure I had this exact same experience.

  • Am I the only one who thought she was crazy from the beginning for picking LDC over Billy Zane?  I mean, she was being a tad bit horish, I probably would have been pissed too if my DH was getting all sweaty below deck with some chick while I sat upstairs like a chump.

Also I thought in the end they were all clapping because she finally died and they were like "yeah join the club you door hogging bish, no one cares you can stand on your toes"

This is what happens when I have to pick up  my kid from dc early and leave work.

I like Titanic, but my husband wants to watch it in 3D and I ugly cried enough the first time around.

I loved Avatar, there was a lot of colonial symbolism in the storyline. Plus the guy is hot. NOT when he's blue though.

Loved footloose, grease and dirty dancing the first time around. Not the second time at all.

    Star Wars? Meh.

Now the latest Star Trek? Awesome.

Bfore anybody starts a net war over any of what I said, read my siggy please.

I loved the latest Star Trek too.

  • Lurking here, but I saw an interview on aintitcoolnews.com where Spielberg said he regretted going back and tampering with E.T., and that he will always tell people to watch the original instead.  He also said he will never again go back and change any of his movies.  This was in response to how he feels about George Lucas tampering with Star Wars.

So in conclusion, I still love Spielberg, and agree that George Lucas can DIAF.
